Yavapai Downs is a horse racing track in Prescott Valley, Arizona. The track hosts both Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing. It has not run meets since the 2010 season.

Yavapai Downs History

Yavapai Downs filed for bankruptcy on July 13, 2011. The managers of the track were charged with mismanagement in civil court and in federal bankruptcy court after $14 million in cash and United States Department of Agriculture loans could not be accounted for. As of May 4, 2013, the civil and bankruptcy proceedings are ongoing.

New track owner Gary Miller has assumed the track's $5.5 million federal loan and has invested over $1 million to clean up the grounds and replace the roof on the grandstands. He hopes to have the track open for the 2014 season.
