Molly Pitcher Stakes
The Molly Pitcher Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race raced annually during the last week of August at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport, New Jersey. The race is open to fillies and mares, age three and up, willing to race one and one-sixteenth miles on the dirt. This Grade II event carries a purse of $300,000. In 1951, the Molly Pitcher was the first race in the United States ever to be televised in color.
