Jaipur Stakes
The Jaipur Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race for horses three-years-old and up run in mid June at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. A Grade III race, it's set at a distance of 6 furlongs on turf.
Named after Jaipur, the glorious Pink City of India, Jaipur, the Champion three-year old colt of 1962 who ran one of the most memorable Travers Stakes on record, [1] the Jaipur will be in its 27th running in 2010. From 1986 to 2005 the race was run at 7 furlongs and at 6 furlongs in 1984-1985.
