Thursday's Rainbow 6 Carryover $92,000HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - Saturday's $400,000 Besilu Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2), a major prep for the $1 million Florida Derby (G1) March 28 and Triple Crown, was drawn Monday with Lambholm South Holy Bull (G2) winner Upstart being named the 8-5 favorite in the eight horse field.
The Fountain of Youth is one of eight stakes - seven graded - that will be featured on Saturday's program along with the $200,000 Davona Dale (G2) and $200,00 Mac Diarmida (G3), which will feature the 2015 debut of turf and older horse champion Main Sequence.
Frosted, second to Upstart in the Holy Bull, was named the 5-2 second choice in the Fountain of Youth while undefeated Itsaknockout is 4-1. First race post Saturday is 12:30 p.m.
Saturday's Late Pick 4 will have a guaranteed pool of $300,000 while the Pick 5 will have a guaranteed pool of $150,000.
Live racing returns to Gulfstream Thursday. Gulfstream is open for simulcasting seven days a week.
Who's Hot: Jockey Jose Lezcano had a pair of winners in Borseggiatore ($9.20) in the fifth and Rose Brier ($4.40). Jockey Corey Lanerie won aboard Hone In ($11.20) in the second and Knoll ($9.20) in the 10th.
