Stormy Victoria 5-2

Christophe Clement trained French bred mare had two wins in eight career starts at home but failed to place in her last four - all stakes races. She returned from seven months away from the track and made her North American debut April 29, 2016 and promptly won an Allowance Optional Claiming at Belmont Park. Stormy Victoria has been pretty good since - an Allowance Optional Claiming score last time out at Belmont Park September 22 followed a third in the G2 Nassau Stakes on this track May 27 and a second in the minor Powder Break Stakes at Gulfstream Park April 29. Before that was a fourth in the G3 My Charmer Handicap at Gulfstream Park West in November, a second in the G3 Athenia Stakes at Belmont Park last October and a third in the G3 Noble Damsel Stakes September 24, 2016. She has placed in seven of eight North American starts but still has yet to claim a stakes/group score. Jockey Luis Contreras hopes to change all of that Saturday from the post 3.

Moonlit Promise 3-1

Has placed in six of seven career starts for trainer Josie Carroll - four wins and two second-place finishes - all at Woodbine. She enters off a good win over Southern Ring and River Maid in the minor Sweet Briar Stakes September 17 which followed 10 months away, a sixth in her only graded stakes action to date - the G3 Maple Leaf Stakes, a win in the listed La Lorgnette Stakes last September and a second in the listed Duchess Stakes in August, 2016. Moonlit Promise has been competitive so far and tries to finally prove in in graded stakes action Saturday. Gary Boulanger rides from gate 6.

Southern Ring 7-2

Defending champion in this race - Malcolm Pierce trained mare has 13 career starts with five wins, two seconds and two third-place finishes. She has been just OK lately - a third last time out in the minor Sweet Briar Stakes on this track September 17 followed a sixth in the G3 Royal North Stakes here July 29 and a seventh in the minor Zadacarta Stakes on this track July 1. Before that was a good win in the G3 Whimsical Stakes on this track in April and a third in the minor Minaret Stakes at Tampa Bay in February. Southern Ring already has two graded stakes wins on this track and hopes to snap a three-race losing streak from gate 2. Patrick Husbands has been tabbed to ride.

Minks Aprise 9-2

Has six wins, two seconds and two third place finishes in 19 career starts for trainer Roger Attfield. She made her graded stakes debut last April and finished an OK fourth in the G2 Great Lady M Stakes at Los Alamitos. It followed a win by 2 1/4 lengths in the minor Camilla Urso Stakes at Golden Gate March 19. Mikes Aprise has been up and down lately - a seventh last time out in the G3 Ontario Matron Stakes at Woodbine July 22 followed a win in the minor Trillium Stakes here June 18, a respectable second behind Code Warrior in the G3 Hendrie Stakes on this track June 4 and a third in the G2 Bessarabian Stakes also at Woodbine back on November 19. She also had a fourth in the G3 Maple Leaf Stakes November 5, a good win in the minor H.B.P.A Stakes here October 6 and a third in the minor Steve Pini Memorial at Suffolk Downs last September 3. Minks Aprise has quietly placed in five of her last seven starts overall but will be after a strong bounce back Saturday with Jesse Campbell in the reins from gate 4.

River Maid 8-1

Defending third-place finisher in this race - Robert Tiller trained mare has placed in 15 of 19 career starts - seven wins, five seconds and three third place finishes - all at Woodbine. She enters off an OK second behind Moonlit Promises in the minor Sweet Briar Stakes September 17 after a third in the minor OLG/OR Kenora Stakes August 30 and a fifth in the G3 Hendrie Stakes June 4. Before that was a disappointing sixth in the minor Ballade Stakes May 14, a respectable second in the G2 Whimsical Stakes April 23 and a nice win in the G2 Bessarabian Stakes November 19 and an OK third in the G3 Ontario Fashion Stakes October 16. In 2016 she had four straight wins including the 2016 Ballade Stakes June 4. River Maid has been competitive almost every time out and tries for a first win in nearly a year - from gate 8. Code Warrior 10-1

Rachel Halden trained filly has placed in nine of 14 career starts - four wins, three seconds and two third place finishes. She enters off a disappointing tenth in the G2 Presque Isle Downs Masters September 18 after a fourth in the G3 Royal North Stakes here July 29 and a career-best win in the G3 Hendrie Stakes on this rack June 4. Before that were consecutive third place finishes - in the minor Ballade Stakes May 14 and the minor Camilla Urso Stakes at Golden Gate March 18 and two straight runner-up finishes in Allowance races at Golden Gate in January. Her other two graded stakes results were a respectable runner-up finish in the G2 Santa Ynez Stakes in January, 2016 and a seventh in the 2016 Santa Ysabel Stakes in March of last year. Code Warrior has placed in five of her last seven starts but has failed to hit the board in her last two ahead of this weekend. She tries for a second graded stakes score in four starts when she departs from post 7 with Anne Sanguinetti guiding her.

Sugar Jones 15-1

Michael Mattine trained filly has hit the board in six of her 11 career starts - all on this track. She steps into graded stakes company for the first time Saturday off a disappointing fifth in the minor Sweet Briar Stakes September 17 after a three-race win streak including an Allowance Optional Claiming August 12 and an Allowance July 9. She placed in just one of three minor stakes races in 2016 - a second in the minor Passing Mood Stakes in July. Northern Kiss 20-1

Blair Miller trained filly has two wins and two seconds in her eight career starts - all at Woodbine. She makes her graded stakes debut Saturday off an Allowance score October 7 and consecutive seconds in similar races in August. She failed to place in her previous four including a sixth in the minor Ruling Angel Stakes last October. Northern Kiss has steps up having shown some improvement lately and will have Christopher Husbands in the saddle from the rail.
