Ring Weekend - returned from a 14 month layoff May 21 for trainer Graham Motion and finished a very respectable second in the G2 Dixie Stakes at Pimlico and followed that with an uncharacteristic sixth in the G1 Fourstardave Handicap August 20 and a good win in the G2 Bernard Baruch Handicap at Saratoga September 5. He enters this week off another good win in the G2 Seabiscuit Handicap at Del Mar November 26 which followed consecutive uncharacteristic seventh place finishes - the BC Mile November 5 and the G1 Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland October 8. Ring Weekend now has seven wins, four seconds and two third place finishes in 20 career starts and has five wins and two seconds in his last 11 starts overall. He has been a tad inconsistent lately but shoots for a second straight graded stakes score and a possible trip overseas for the Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot. Drayden Van Dyke will be in the reins from post 11 hoping to make it three-for-four at this distance.
Twentytwentyvision - has hit the board in 13 of 14 career starts for trainer Richard Mandella - five wins, three thirds and six third place finishes. He makes his North American debut Saturday off a terrific win in the Group 1 Longines Gran Premio Latinoamericano back in March, a second in a stakes last January and another Group 1 score in September, 2015 - the Linneo de Paula Machado - Grande Criterium. Some in Tieme was superb in limited action at home and hopes to be so again Saturday in his first race in nine months. Tiago Josue Pereira is scheduled to ride from the outside gate 12.
Perfectly Majestic - Robert Hess trained gelding has placed in 17 of 20 career starts - four wins, six seconds and seven third place finishes. Blue Tone - has six wins, four seconds and three third place finishes in 24 career starts for trainer Robert Hess. He won the minor Santana Mile Stake son this track in March, 2015 (he was second in that race in 2016) but has been just OK since. He was at his best in late 2014/early 2015 when he was second in the 2014 G3 Native Diver and third in the 2015 G2 San Pasqual but he has placed in just three of 10 graded stakes tries overall. Blue Tone shoots for a first graded stakes score from the rail Saturday with Kent Desormeaux guiding him.
Syntax - Irish bred Phil D'Amato trainee has three wins, three seconds and three third place finishes in 16 career starts. He won the G3 Kent Stakes at Delaware Park in July, 2015 but hasn't been great since. Last time out was a fifth in an Allowance at Presque Isle Downs October 5 after a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Woodbine September 23 and a seventh in the G3 Cliff Hanger Stakes at Monmouth Park in August. He also had a ninth in the G3 Hawthorne Derby in October, 2015 and a sixth in the G3 Jefferson Cup at Churchill Downs in September of that year. Last time out was an eighth in the G3 Hill Prince Stakes at Belmont Park October 8 which followed a fifth in the minor Breeders' Stakes at Woodbine and a nice win in the minor Toronto Cup Stakes in July. He placed in just one of three minor stakes starts before that. Conquest Daddyo tries to gain a little traction Saturday and for his first graded stakes in on 15 months with Luis Contreras in the saddle from gate 6.
Quick Casablanca - Chilean bred Ronald McAnally trainee was terrific at home placing in all 11 starts including a win in the Group 1 Asociacion Latinoamericana in 2012. He was OK once he arrived in North America - a win in the G3 Last Tycoon Stakes in April, 2014 and a second in the G2 San Juan Capistrano Stakes two months later being the best results.
