Last time out was a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Saratoga August 3 which followed a fifth in the G3 Jaipur Invitational at Belmont Park June 10, an OK third in the G2 Shakertown Stakes at Keeneland April 8 and a good win in the minor Colonel Power Overnight Stakes at Fair Grounds in February. Other good results include a second in the G3 Woodford Stakes in October, a second in the minor Frontier Utilities Turf Sprint in January and two listed stakes scores in 2013. Hogy has been competitive for a long time but hasn't posted a graded stakes score since May, 2013. Jockey Florent Geroux hopes to change all of that from gate 10 Saturday.

Last time out was a three length Allowance Optional Claiming score at five furlongs at Indiana Grand June 21 which followed a tenth in the G3 Twin Spires Turf Sprint at Churchill Downs May 5 and a sixth and a second respectively in a pair of Allowance races to start 2017. He won the 2014 listed Arlington Sprint for his best result but has yet to place in graded stakes company (four tries). Randy Morse trainee has eight wins, six seconds and six third-place finishes in 25 career starts. He arrives in so-so form - a third last time out in the minor West Virginia Legislature Chairman's Cup at Mountaineer August 5 followed a fourth in the minor Don Bernhardt Stakes at Ellis Park July 22, a sixth in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Churchill Downs in May and a seventh in the G3 Count Fleet Sprint Handicap at Oaklawn Park in April. Black Bear has been fairly competitive in is career but has yet to post a stakes score. Jockey Robby Albarado will try to change all of that from post 3.

Has just two wins and a second-place finish in 13 career starts for trainer D. Wayne Lukas. He makes his graded Stakes debut Saturday off a fifth in the listed Quick Call Stakes at Saratoga August 9, a ninth in an Allowance Optional Claiming on that track July 22 and consecutive wins including an Allowance at Ellis Park July 4 and a MSW at Churchill Downs June 11.
