2017 Comely Stakes Entries at Aqueduct
Miss Sky Warrior
Kelly Breen trained filly was impressive indeed to start her career - she reeled off five straight wins at the end of 2016/beginning of 2017 including the G3 Tempted Stakes and the G3 Demoiselle Stakes last November on this track, the G3 Davona Dale Stakes at Gulfstream in March and the G2 Gazelle Stakes by an incredible 13 lengths also at Aqueduct April 8. She has just two starts since that last win and hasn't quite been the same - a fourth as 3-5 favorite last time out in her first race against older competition in the G1 Turnback the Alarm Stakes at Belmont Park October 28 followed a troubled eighth in the G1 Kentucky Oaks in May and six months away from the track. Miss Sky Warrior had been tops in her division before the current slump and hopes to get back to top form on a track she's won all three of her career starts. Jockey Javier Castellano will try to accomplish that goal from gate 8 Friday.
Actress
Jason Servis trained filly has a win, two seconds and a third-place finish in her six career starts. She arrives off a sixth in the G1 Cotillion Stakes at Parx September 23 which followed a fourth in the G1 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga August 19, a third in the G3 Delaware Oaks July 8, a terrific win after trailing by as much as 19 lengths in the G2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico May 19 and consecutive seconds to start her career - the best of which coming in the minor Game Face Stakes at Gulfstream Park April 22. Actress has been competitive in the past but hasn't fired in her last to starts overall. She hopes to rediscover her early-career form from post 5 Friday with Jose Ortiz guiding her.
Bonita Bianca
Has placed in seven of eight career starts - four wins, a second and two third-place finishes. Last time out was a decent third in the minor Empire Distaff Handicap at Belmont Park October 21 which followed an OK second in the minor Fleet Indian Stakes at Saratoga August 25, a nice win in the minor New York Oaks at Finger Lakes July 22, a fourth in an Allowance at Monmouth Park June 24 and a win in the minor East View Stakes at Aqueduct in December. She also won the minor Maid of the Mist Stakes on this track in October and had a third in her only graded stakes action to date - the G2 Demoiselle Stakes at Aqueduct in November. Bonita Bianca has been good so far in her career and is expected to be again Friday. Angel Arroyo gets the call from gate 4.
Analyze
Michael Matz trained filly has placed in eight of 11 career starts - three wins, three seconds and two third-place finishes. Last time out was a career-best effort - a win in the minor Winter Melodies Stakes at Delaware Park October 5 after and eighth, a second and a win respectively in a trio of Allowance Optional Claiming races this past summer. Analyze steps into graded stakes company for the first time in decent form and will leave from gate 6 with Nik Juarez aboard.
Parade
Chug McGaughey trained filly has placed in six of seven career starts - two wins, a second and three third-place finishes. She steps into stakes company for the first time Friday off a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming on this track November 9, an Allowance score at Belmont Park October 4, a second in an Allowance on that track September 9 and a maiden score at Saratoga August 23. Parade steps up in decent form and hopes for a breakthrough performance from post 3. Dylan Davis rides.
Crimson Frost
Has two wins, two seconds and a third-place finish in 10 career starts for trainer Linda Rice. She steps into stakes company for the first time Friday off a seven-length Allowance score on this track November 8, a second in a similar race at Belmont Park October 27 and a fifth, a third and an eighth respectively in a trio of Allowance races this past summer. Crimson Frost takes an enormous step up in competition hoping to maintain the momentum - from post 7 with Junior Alvarado guiding her.
You Know Too
Michael Gorham trained filly has three wins and a second-place finish in her nine career starts. Last time out was a sixth in the listed Safely Kept Stakes at Laurel Park November 11 which followed a fifth in the G1 Juddmonte Spinster Stakes at Keeneland October 9 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Delaware Park August 23. Before that was a seventh in the G3 Monmouth Oaks August 12, an OK fourth in the G3 Delaware Oaks July 8, an Allowance score at Delaware Park June 5, a fifth in the G1 Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga September 3 and a decent second in the minor White Clay Creek Stakes at Delaware Park last August. You Know Too has been OK so far but has largely struggled against top company. Jockey Kendrick Carmouche hopes to change all of that from gate 2 Friday.
Run and Go
Will race for the fourth time for trainer Todd Pletcher having posted two wins so far. She steps into stakes company for the first time Friday off a fourth in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Belmont Park September 29 which followed an Allowance score at Saratoga August 21 and a maiden score at first asking - at Gulfstream Park in January. She steps into stakes company for the first time Friday on a nice two race win streak - an Allowance at Belmont Park October 27 and a MSW on that track January 28.
