Kobe's Back - Peter Eurton trainee has been impressive lately - a third last time out in the Grade 3 Churchill Downs Stakes May 7 followed consecutive wins - the Grade 2 San Carlos Stakes here March 12 with a 106 Beyer Speed Figure and in the Grade 2 Palos Verdes Stakes on this track in February. Before that was a seventh in the Breeders' Cup Sprint October 31, a decent second in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Sprint Championship October 3, a fourth in the Grade 2 Pat O'Brien Stakes at Del Mar August 22, an OK third in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes in July and a sixth in the Grade 1 Met Mile June 6 at Belmont Park. He also had a good win in the Grade 3 Commonwealth Stakes at Keeneland April 4, 2015 and won the Grade 2 San Vicente Stakes at Santa Anita in February, 2014. Kobe's Back now has five wins, three seconds and three third place finishes in 19 career starts, has three wins and two seconds in six starts at Santa Anita and enters in career best form. Lord Nelson - Bob Baffert trained colt has four wins (three at Santa Anita), a second and a third place finish in 10 career starts including a wins in the Grade 2 San Vicente Stakes here over Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Texas Red February 1, 2015, the minor Speakeasy Stakes by an impressive 6 3/4 lengths October 13, 2014 and an Allowance Optional Claiming last time out with a career best 99 Beyer Speed Figure on this track June 3. Before his latest win was a third behind the terrific Run Happy in the Grade 1 Malibu Stakes here December 26, a fourth in the Grade 3 Pat Day Mile at Churchill Downs last May and a second in the Grade 3 Bay Shore Stakes in April. Lord Nelson has been good in the past, has hit the board in all three starts at this distance and will be after his second graded stakes score Saturday from gate 4. Rafael Bejarano will be in the saddle.

Subtle Indian - impressive Robertino Diodoro trained gelding has seven wins and a second place finish in 10 career starts. He arrives in very good form - a second last time out in the Grade 2 Kona Gold Stakes on this track May 21 followed a four race wins streak - in gate-to-wire fashion by 3 3/4 lengths with a 105 Beyer Speed Figure in the Grade 3 Count Fleet Handicap at Oaklawn Park April 10, the minor Hot Springs Stakes on that track in March and two Allowance Optional Claiming scores to start the year. He has been a factor in every race this year and will try to keep an impressive run going at an untested seven furlong distance from gate 6 Saturday. Mike Smith gets the call.
Coastline - Phil D'Amato trainee has five wins, four seconds and three third place finishes in 21 career starts. He has been decent lately - a fourth last time out in the Grade 2 Kona Gold Stakes here May 21 followed a second behind Kobe's Back two starts back in the Grade 2 San Carlos Stakes here March 12, a nice win in the minor Clocker's Corner Stakes on this track January 24 and a second in the Grade 3 Daytona Stakes here in December. He placed in just one of his previous three starts but has two wins and a second in four starts at this distance. Coastline looks to bounce back after a ho-hum effort last time out and will have Tyler Baze in the reins from the outside gate 8.
Cautious Giant - Kristin Mulhall trained gelding has four wins and six third place finishes in 20 career starts. He has been OK lately - a third last time out in the Grade 2 Kona Gold Stakes here May 21 followed consecutive fourths - the Grade 3 Count Fleet Sprint Handicap at Oaklawn Park April 10 and the Grade 2 San Carlos Stakes on this track in March and another third in the Grade 2 Palos Verdes Stakes here February 7. Before that was a two race win streak - both Allowance Optional Claiming scores in this track - the last coming January 1. Cautious Giant will be chasing his first stakes score Saturday and enters in so-so form from post 3. Fernando Hernandez Perez rides.
Ambitious Brew - Martin Jones trained gelding was second in the 2014 Grade 3 Eddie D Stakes and followed that with a seventh in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint that year. He has been decent since but steps into graded stakes company for the first time in 17 months Saturday. Last time out was a win in the minor Lennyfromalibu Stakes here May 28 after a sixth in the minor California Flag Stakes here in October and a nice win in the minor EB Johnston Stakes at Los Alamitos in September. He chases his first graded stake score Saturday having won two of his last three starts overall and will have Kent Desormeaux aboard from post 5.
Home Run Kitten - 2014 Grade 3 Eddie D Stakes winner, David Hofmans pupil has five wins, two seconds and five third place finishes in 19 career starts. He finished third in three straight graded stakes races early last year but failed to hit the board in his next three starts - a seventh in the minor Joe Hernandez Stakes January 28, a ninth in the minor Clocker's Corner Stakes January 24 and an eighth in the Grade 3 American Stakes last May - all results at Santa Anita. Two starts back was a huge bounce back however - a win in the Grade 3 American Stakes here May 6 - a result that was followed by a very disappointing sixth last time out in the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile here June 4. Home Run Kitten has placed in just one of his last five starts overall and although that result was a good one he arrives in less-than-spectacular form. Joe Talamo has been tabbed to change his fortunes around from post 7 Saturday.
Clever Royal - has 22 career starts for trainer Kristin Mulhall with six wins, three seconds and a third place finish. He makes his stakes debut Saturday in career best form - an Allowance Optional Claiming score June 11 followed a second in a similar race May 4 and another win in an Allowance race in April - all results on this track. He has been decent lately against lesser competition and hope it translates in his huge step up Saturday. Martin Pedroza has been tabbed to ride from the rail.
