Stonetastic 7-5 - Kelly Breen trained mare finished second as favorite in this race last year and has been good since. Last time out was a good win in the minor Pumpkin Pie Stakes at Belmont Park October 30 after a respectable second in the G2 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes at Keeneland October 8 and a victory in the minor Regret Stakes at Monmouth Park July 30. Also this year she posted a second in the G1 Humana Distaff in May and two good wins on this track - the G2 Inside Information Stakes in March and the minor Miami Shores Stakes in February. She also won the 2014 G2 Prioress Stakes and posted an eighth after fading in the 2015 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint. Stonetastic has placed in eight of 12 career graded stakes tries and has eight wins, five seconds and three third place finishes in 21 career starts - four wins and three seconds in her last eight overall. She has been competitive lately and hopes to better her runner-up finish in this race last year when she leaves from post 5 with Paco Lopez aboard the overwhelming morning line favorite.
Dearest 9-5 - impressive Edgard Zerpa trained filly has four wins, a second and a third place finish in her six career starts. She enters off a respectable second in the G2 Prioress Stakes at Saratoga September 4 which followed a nice two race win streak - the minor Azelea Stakes July 2 and the minor Royal Palm Stakes June 4 - both on this track. Before that was a third in the G2 Davona Dale Stakes here in February and two more wins to start her career. Dearest has been a serious factor in every career start, has won three of four races on this track and hopes to continue her role from the rail Saturday. Edgard Zayas will be in the saddle of the morning line second choice.
