Las Vegas, NV - Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario will play host to the Grade 3 Hendrie Stakes this Saturday, May 9. A purse of $150,000 will be on the line for fillies and mares four years old and upward willing to go 6 1/2 furlongs on Woodbine's All Weather Tracks.

The Hendrie Stakes has attracted a field of six to go in race 8 on Woodbine's Saturday card. Post time is 4:00 PM. Let's take a peek into the past performances of all six combatants for this Grade 3 stakes.

2015 Hendrie Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Unspurned - Roger Attfield trained filly finished second in the Grade 3 Mazarine Stakes here in October, 2013 and has been inconsistent since. She has placed in five of her last six starts however - a trio of runner-up finishes (the Jammed Lovely Stakes in November, the Ruling Angel Stakes in October and the La Lorgnette Stakes in September) followed a sixth in the Grade 3 Ontario Colleen Stakes in August and a good win in the minor Bison City Stakes here in July. Last time out she posted a career best effort - a win in the Grade 3 Whimsical Stakes on this track April 18. Unspurned has 12 career starts with four wins, four seconds and a third place finish and hopes for her second straight graded stakes score Saturday. Allen Garcia gets the mount on the 121 pound highweight from post 4.

Checkered Past - Malcolm Pierce trained mare won the minor Trillium Stakes on this track in June during a streak of four wins and three seconds in seven starts. She has just one start since - a ninth February 7 in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Gulfstream Park - her first start in eight months. She makes her graded stakes debut having placed in eight of 10 career starts - four wins, three seconds and a third place finish (four wins and a second in five Polytrack starts) but off a career worst performance. Eurico Rosa Da Silva has been tabbed to ride Checkered Past in her step up from the rail.

Skylander Girl - finished second in four straight races this past summer including the OLG Algoma Stakes in August, the minor Wonder Where Stakes two weeks earlier and the minor Ontario Damsel Stakes in July - all at Woodbine. She has been up and down since - a good second last time out behind Unspurned in the Grade 3 Whimsical Stakes on this track followed a ninth in the Grade 3 Suwannee River Stakes February 7 at Gulfstream, a decent second in the Grade 2 Marshua's River Stakes in January and a sixth in the minor South Beach Stakes December 13. Other results include a third in the minor Jammed Lovely Stakes in November, an Allowance Optional Claiming score and a third in the Grade 2 Canadian Stakes in September - the last three at Woodbine. She won two minor stakes races in 2013 but looks for her first graded stakes score Saturday. Skylander Girl has 21 career starts with three wins seven seconds two third place finishes and will start from gate 6 with Emile Ramsammy guiding her.

Paladin Bay - has placed in 11 of 13 career starts - four wins, four seconds and three third place finishes for trainer Harold Ladouceur. She made her graded stakes debut last May and posted an upset win in the Grade 3 Selene Stakes here after second in the listed Star Shoot Stakes April 19, a win in the Ontario Lassie Stakes in December, 2013, a second in the minor South Ocean Stakes and a win in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes in November of 2013- all results at Woodbine. She makes her first start since a third in the listed Bison City Stakes in July which followed a fourth in the Woodbine Oaks. She has four wins, two wins and a third place finish in her last eight starts overall but saddles up for the first time in nine months Saturday. Gerry Olguin rides from post 2.

Miss Michief - 2013 Pearl City Stakes winner, Dale Campuano trained mare has 16 career starts with six wins - three straight this past summer at Presque Isle Downs including the minor HBPA stake. But she's stumbled in her last three starts - all stakes races. Last time out was a fifth in the minor Maryland Racing Media Stakes February 14 which followed a fourth in the minor Nellie Morse Stakes on this track January 3 and a fifth in the Grade 3 Maple Leaf Stakes at Woodbine in November - her only graded stakes action to date. Miss Mischief looks to get back to her summer form and for her first graded stakes score from post 3 with Jesse Campbell aboard.

Disco Barbie - Dale Capuano trained mare has placed in 14 of 17 career starts but hasn't been that great lately. She is coming off her worst career effort - a ninth in the Grade 2 Barbara Fritchie Handicap at Laurel Park February 14 which followed an uncharacteristic fourth in the minor What a Summer Stakes here January 3 and four straight runner-up finishes including the Grade 2 Matron Stakes, the Grade 3 Ontario Fashion Stakes and the Grade 2 Presque Isle Downs Masters. Disco Barbie has yet to record a stakes win and hopes to snap a bit of a slump Saturday. She looks for her first win since August (7 starts) with Patrick Husbands in the saddle.
