Hopeful Stakes 2015 at Saratoga Race Course
Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes is on tap for Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York this Labor Day Monday, September 7. Two year olds will be featured as they chase the winner's share of the $350,000 purse over seven furlongs on Saratoga's dirt track.

Uncle Vinny - Todd Pletcher trained colt looks like one of the ones to catch after a good win last time out in his graded stakes debut - the Grade 3 Sanford Stakes on this track July 25. Before that was a serious hiccup however - a sixth in the minor Tremont Stakes at Belmont Park in June and a maiden score at first asking in May. Uncle Vinny is the only graded stakes winner in the field and will be looking to make it two straight - from post 7 with the legend John Velazquez in the reins.
Magna Light - Rudy Rodriguez trained colt has a win and a second place finish in two career starts - the win coming by 4 1/2 lengths in a five furlong race at first asking at Belmont Park June 28. He made his stakes debut last time out and finished an OK second to behind Uncle Vinny after leading all the way and crossing the line first only to be DQ'd in the Grade 3 Sanford Stakes on this track July 25. He tries to erase the memory of a disappointing result last time out from the rail with Jose Ortiz in the saddle.

Bullet Gone Astray - has two career starts and two wins for trainer Henry Collazo. Last time out was a good win by an incredible nine lengths in the minor Mountaineer Juvenile Stakes August 1 after a maiden score at first asking at Gulfstream June 28. Bullet Gone Astray looks to make it 3-for-3 in his career when he departs from the outside gate 8 with Luca Panici in the irons.
Ralis - Doug O'Neill trained colt has four career starts already with a win and a second place finish. He was second last time out in the minor Graduation Stakes here August 5 after a fifth in the minor Summer Juvenile Championship Stakes at Los Alamitos in July and a maiden score in June. Ralis is the most experienced of all the entries and will be after his first stakes score from gate 6 with Javier Castellano guiding him.

Sallisaw - will hit the track for just the second time for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. His only career starts was a good one - a maiden score on this track August 15. Sallisaw steps up for the first time looking to make a little noise - from post 2 with Junior Alvarado guiding him.
Tom's Ready - Dallas Stewart trained colt has just one career start and recorded a somewhat disappointing fourth in that race - behind Sallisaw on this track August 15. Tom's Ready hopes to bounce back and record his first good result from post 5 with meet leading rider Irad Ortiz in the reins.
Sticksstatelydude - will make his stakes debut Monday for trainer Greg Burchell. He broke maiden last time out in his second career start - on this track August 1 after a second in his first start at Churchill Downs June 27. Sticksstatelydude hopes to continue the improvement when he leaves from post 3 with Joel Rosario aboard.
Set the Trappe - will be looking for his first win Monday for trainer Anthony Dutrow having recorded a runner-up finish in his only career start - on this track August 8. He starts from gate 4 with Ricardo Santana guiding him.
