Sham Stakes 2015 at Santa Anita
Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 3 Sham Stakes is on tap for this Saturday, January 10 from Santa Anita in Arcadia, California. A group of three year olds will be after the winner's share of the $100,000 purse and the 10 qualifying points toward this year's Kentucky Derby when they go one mile on Santa Anita's dirt track.

Calculator - Peter Miller trained colt has four career starts with two seconds and a third place finish - the seconds coming last time out in the Grade 1 FrontRunner Stakes here September 27 and in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity September 3 - both coming behind Derby favorite American Pharoah. Before that was a fourth and a third respectively in a pair of MSW races also at Del Mar. Elvis Trujillo will be aboard the leading money winner in the field from post 7 as Calculator looks for his first career win.
Rock Shandy - will race for the fourth time for trainer Peter Miller. He broke maiden two back in his second career start - at Del Mar November 7 and followed that with a respectable third last time out in his graded stakes debut - the Grade 3 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes at Del Mar November 30. He will have Victor Espinoza guiding him Saturday in his first start on dirt from post 5.

Rockinatten - Doug O'Neill pupil will hit the track for the fourth time having posted a win, a second and a third place finish in his three career starts - all MSW races. He makes his stakes debut Saturday after finally breaking maiden by an incredible 8 3/4 lengths last time out - at Gulfstream Park West October 26. Rafael Bejarano will be in charge in Rockinatten's first start around two turns - from post 3.
St. Joe Bay - the other Peter Miller trained colt has four career starts with a win and two third place finishes. He enters off an OK fourth in the Grade 3 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes at Del Mar November 30 which followed a close third in the Grade 3 Bob Hope Stakes November 15, a Maiden Claiming score by 10 1/2 lengths at Santa Anita October 17 and a third in a MSW at Los Alamitos in his debut September 12. Martin Pedroza will be aboard from the rail Saturday.

Papacoolpapacool - Jeff Mullins trained gelding is coming off a sixth in the Grade 3 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes at Del Mar November 30 after breaking maiden in his third career start - on this track September 27. He has a win, a second and a third place finish in four career starts and will attempt to bounce back from a career worst effort as the probable pace setter in this race. Fernando Hernandez Perez will be in the irons from post 6 Saturday.
Hero Ten All - Jeff Mullins trained colt has just two career starts with a win and a second place finish. He broke maiden last time out at Los Alamitos December 7 after a second to Grade 1 winner Dortmund in his debut on this track in November. He lines up from the outside post in his stakes debut with Tyler Baze aboard.
Pioneerof the West - Mark Casse trained colt has five career starts with a win and a second place finish. He makes his graded stakes debut Saturday after a ninth last time out in the minor Eddie Logan Stakes here December 27 and a maiden score in gate-to-wire fashion November 20 in his fourth career start. He looks to break through in stakes company for the first time in three tries with Corey Nakatani in the saddle from post 2.
Unblunted - has three career starts with a win and a second place finish. He is coming off a fifth in his stakes debut - the minor Gold Rush Stakes at Golden Gate December 6 after a maiden here in October and a second in a similar race in his debut. Joe Talamo rides from gate 4 Saturday.
