He enters off a nice win in his stakes debut - by 1 1/4 lengths in gate-to-wire fashion in the minor San Pedro Stakes on this track April 12 and a maiden score at first asking. Yiannis steps into graded stakes company for the first time Sunday with Victor Espinoza in the saddle from the rail looking like the one to beat.
Kentuckian - Jerry Hollendorfer trained colt has two career starts with a win and a third place finish. The third came last time out in his stakes debut - as heavy favorite behind Yiannis and Serbian Syclone in the minor San Pedro Stakes and the win came in his debut -by an incredible 11 lengths at Golden Gate March 7. He will have the legendary Mike Smith guiding him Sunday from the advantageous outside post 7 as he heads into the weekend off a bullet six-furlong workout May 4.

Serbian Syclone - raced in stakes company for the first time for trainer Peter Miller February 1 and finished sixth in the Grade 2 San Vicente Stakes here and followed that with a seventh in the minor Baffles Stakes February 15 and a respectable second last time out - behind Yiannis in the minor San Pedro Stakes here April 12. He started his career with two wins by a combined 8 1/2 lengths - an Allowance Optional Claiming here December 31 after a maiden score November 16 and an eighth in his debut November 2. He hopes to build on a decent effort last time out when he leaves from gate 4 with Tyler Baze in the irons.
The Man - Bob Baffert trained colt finally broke maiden last time out by 4 1/2 lengths in gate-to-wire fashion in his fourth career start. Before that were s seventh, a second and a third respectively in a trio of MSW races- all on this track. Martin Garcia will be in charge in The Man's huge step up in competition - from gate 2.

St. Joe Bay - Peter Miller trained colt finished third in his graded stakes debut - the Grade 3 Bob Hope Stakes at Del Mar in November. He has failed to place in four graded stakes starts since however - a sixth last time out in the Grade 2 Louisiana Derby March 28 followed a fourth in the Grade 2 Risen Star Stakes in February, a fourth in the Grade 3 Sham Stakes here January 30 and a fourth in the Grade 3 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes at Del Mar January 10. St. Joe Bay has a win, a second and two third place finishes in eight career starts and looks for his first stakes score from post 3 with Elvis Trujillo aboard.

The Gomper - Ronald Ellis trained colt has four career starts with a win and a second place finish. He made his stakes debut March 7 and finished fifth in the Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes - a race that Dortmund won. Before that he has a fourth as heavy 1-2 favorite in an Allowance Optional Claiming here January 30, a second behind Serbian Syclone in a similar race December 31 and a maiden score at first asking December 5. Rafael Bejarano has been tabbed to ride The Gomper from post 5.
