2015 Los Alamitos Futurity Race Favorites

Toews On Ice - Bob Baffert trained colt started his career with consecutive third place finishes at Del Mar but since has strung together three straight impressive wins. Last time out the win came in the Grade 3 Bob Hope Stakes by 1 1/4 lengths as favorite at Del Mar November 14 after wins in the minor Speakeasy Stakes at Santa Anita October 18 and the minor Barretts Juvenile Stakes by 7 1/2 lengths on this very track in September. Toews on Ice hasn't been touched in three months and hopes to keep the impressive streak going from gate 5 Saturday in his longest race to date. Martin Garcia has the mount from gate 4.

Hollywood Don - Peter Miller trained colt posted two straight wins this past summer including the minor Del Mar Juvenile Turf Stakes September 5 and followed that with a third behind the terrific Nyquist in his graded stakes debut - the Grade 1 FrontRunner Stakes at Santa Anita September 26. Last time out was a disappointing ninth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Hollywood Don had looked good before an uncharacteristic effort last time out. He looks to rebound from post 3 Saturday with Victor Espinoza guiding him.

Mor Spirit - Bob Baffert trained Ringling has three career starts with a win and two second place finishes. Last time out was a respectable second as favorite in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes at Churchill Downs November 28 after a maiden score by an impressive 4 1/4 lengths at Santa Anita October 23 and a second in his debut in September. Mor Spirit has been in every race so far and hopes for his first stakes score Saturday from post 5 with Gary Stevens in the reins.

Frank Conversation - has a win and a third place finish in three career starts for trainer Doug O'Neill. He enters off a decent third in the Grade 3 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes at Del Mar November 29 which followed a maiden score October 16 and an eighth in his debut in September. Frank Conversation has looked OK in his last two starts but hasn't been great so far on dirt. Mario Gutierrez rides from gate 2.

Sorryaboutnothing - will hit the track for just the third time for trainer Doug O'Neill. He enters off a fortunate maiden score ahead of Urlacher November 15 at Del Mar after a fourth in his debut on that same track November 7. Sorryaboutnothing hopes to make a little noise in his huge step up in competition when he leaves from gate 6 with Rafael Bejarano in the saddle.

Urlacher - Eoin Harty trained colt will race in stakes company for the first time on Saturday having posted three runner-up finishes and a third place finish in four career starts. He enters off two straight seconds in MSW races - the last one coming after getting disqualified to second November 15 at Del Mar. Urlacher hopes to make a big statement Saturday in his huge step up in competition - from the rail with James Graham aboard.

I'malreadythere - Jerry Hollendorfer trained gelding has five career starts with a win, a second and two third place finishes. He has placed in his last four starts ahead of this weekend - a third last time out behind Toews On Ice in the Grade 3 Bob Hope Stakes at Del Mar November 14 followed a second in the minor Zuma Beach Stakes October 10, a third in the minor Del Mar Juvenile Turf in September and a maiden score at Gulfstream in August. I'malreadythere has been knocking on the door but is still looking for his first stakes win. Tyler Baze has been tabbed with accomplishing that goal from the outside post 7.
