Breeders' Cup Sprint 2015 at Keeneland
Las Vegas, NV - Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky will play host to the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Sprint on Saturday October 31. Horses three years old and upward will take to Keeneland's dirt track and dash six furlongs for a nice purse of $1.5 million.

Private Zone 5-2 - has placed in his last eight starts overall for trainer Jorge Navarro - five wins over that span including last time out by 3 3/4 lengths in the Grade 1 Forego Stakes at Saratoga August 29, in convincing style in the Grade 3 Belmont Sprint Championship July 4, the Grade 2 Churchill Downs Stakes by 4 1/2 lengths May 2, the Grade 1 Cigar Mile at Aqueduct in November and the Grade 1 Vosburgh Stakes in September - a race that he won for the second year in a row. Sandwiched in there is a second behind Honor Code in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Handicap in March, a third in the Breeders' Cup Sprint and another third in the Grade 1 Metropolitan Handicap June 6. Private Zone has been in there with some of the best competition in the world and has 10 wins, eight seconds and three third place finishes in 30 career starts. He has been very competitive the last year - no reason to think differently about this weekend. He departs from post 13 with Martin Pedroza aboard.
Runhappy 3-1 - Maria Borel trained colt has six career starts with five wins - the only blemish being a ninth in the Grade 3 LeComte Stakes. He enters on a terrific four race win streak - the Grade 3 Ogden Phipps Stakes on this track October 2, the Grade 1 King's Bishop Stakes at Saratoga August 29, a 2 3/4 length Allowance Optional Claiming score at Ellis Park July 31 and another win in a similar race at Indiana Grand July 7. Runhappy hasn't been untouchable the last four months and hopes to keep the streak going with Edgar Prado aboard from post 5.

Wild Dude 10-1 - Jerry Hollendorfer trainee has been good lately placing in his last five starts overall. Last time out was a good win in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Turf Championship October 3 which followed a close second in the Grade 2 Pat O'Brien Stakes at Del Mar August 22, a good win over Masochistic at 11-1 odds in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes in July and consecutive third place finishes - behind Masochistic in the Grade 1 Triple Bend Stakes at Santa Anita June 27 and in the Grade 3 Los Angeles Stakes May 25. He also had a nice upset win in the Grade 2 San Carlos Stakes at Santa Anita March 7, another third in the Grade 2 Palos Verdes Stakes January 31 and a decent second by a nose in the Grade 2 Potrero Grande Stakes back in April. Wild Dude now has seven wins, four seconds and four third place finishes in 18 career starts and hopes to keen an impressive recent run going from gate 8 with Rafael Bejarano in the irons.
Masochistic 10-1 - speedy Ron Ellis trained gelding has place in eight of nine 10 career starts - six wins and two second place finishes - the only off-the-board finish came in his debut and a fourth last time out in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Sprint Championship October 3. Two starts back was a second in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes at Del Mar July 26 after a terrific three race win streak - the Grade 1 Triple Bend Stakes by 3 1/2 lengths with an impressive 110 Beyer Speed Figure June 27, in the Grade 2 Kona Gold Stakes with a 102 Beyer Speed Figure April 11 in his graded stakes debut and a 2 1/4 length Allowance Optional Claiming score February 28. He also had a second in the minor Los Alamitos Mile last September and two Allowance scores at Del Mar last summer - both in gate-to-wire fashion. Masochistic is used to being at or near the top but will be looking for a strong bounce back this Saturday. Mike Smith will be in the reins from post 9 hoping to snap a two race losing streak.
Favorite Tale 12-1 - has seven wins, three seconds and a third place finish in 16 career starts. He looked very good last summer winning the Grade 3 Gallant Bob Stakes at Parx in September and finishing second in the Grade 3 Jersey Shore Stakes in August. He has placed in four of five starts this year - a win last time out in an Allowance at Parx September 26 followed a third in the Grade 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap August 1, a good win by 4 1/2 lengths in the Grade 2 Smile Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream July 5, a fifth in the Grade 2 True North Stakes at Belmont Park June 5 and a second in the minor Decathlon Stakes in May. Favorite Tale has been decent this year and will be after a career-defining win Saturday - from the outside post 14 with Javier Castellano guiding him.
Salutos Amigos 12-1 - has won five of his last nine starts (all stakes) for trainer David Jacobson - the Mr. Prospector Stakes at Monmouth June 28, the Grade 3 Tom Fool Handicap in March, the Grade 3 Toboggan Stakes in February, the minor Gravesend Stakes in December and the Grade 3 Fall Highweight Handicap November 27 - with an eighth in March 28 Dubai Golden Shaheen at Meydan sandwiched in there. He enters off an OK second in the Grade 1 Vosburgh Stakes September 26 after a fifth in the Grade 1 Forego Stakes at Saratoga August 29 and a fourth in the Grade 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap on that same track August 1. He also had a seventh in last year's Breeders' Cup Sprint along the way and a win in the Grade 3 Bold Ruler Handicap in October. Salutos Amigos looks to get back on the winning track and to rediscover his early 2015 form with Jose Ortiz aboard from hate 10.

Kobe's Back 15-1 - Peter Eurton trained colt enters off an OK second in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Sprint Championship October 3 after a fourth in the Grade 2 Pat O'Brien Stakes at Del Mar August 22, an OK third in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes in July and a disappointing sixth in the Grade 1 Met Mile June 6 at Belmont Park. He had a good win in the Grade 3 Commonwealth Stakes on this track April 4 and also won the Grade 2 San Vicente Stakes at Santa Anita in February, 2014 - by far his best results to date. Kobe's Back has three wins, three seconds and two third place finishes in 15 career starts but has placed in just two of his last four overall. Gary Stevens gets the call from the gate 2 Saturday as Kobe's Back attempts to rediscover the form he had this past spring.
Stallwalkin' Dude 15-1 - David Jacobson trained gelding has 12 wins, four seconds and five third place finishes in 33 career starts but enters in decent form. Last time out was a third in the Grade 1 Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park September 26 after a win in the minor Tale of the Cat Stakes at Saratoga August 23, a second in the minor Teddy Drone Stakes August 2 and a third in the Grade 3 Belmont Sprint Championship in July. He has five wins, three seconds and two third place finishes in his last 10 starts overall and could be competitive this weekend. Irad Ortiz gets the call from post 3.
Limousine Liberal 15-1 - has four career starts for trainer Ben Colebrook with two wins and two second place finishes. He enters on the heels of consecutive runner-up finishes in his only two graded stakes starts - the Grade 3 Gallant Bob last time out September 19 at Parx and the Grade 1 King's Bishop Stakes August 29. Before that was an Allowance score at Ellis Park July 18 and a maiden score at first asking June 21. Limousine Liberal has been competitive in his limited starts thus far and will be out for her first graded stakes score - from gate 4 with John Velazquez guiding him.
Holy Boss 15-1 - Steve Asmussen trained colt had four race win streak to start his year - by a comfortable 2 1/4 lengths in the Grade 2 Amsterdam Stakes August 1 after two minor stakes scores - the Chick Lang in May and the Bachelor Stakes in April and an Allowance Optional Claiming in March. He has been just OK in two starts since - a fourth last time out in the Grade 3 Ogden Phoenix Stakes on this track October 2 followed a third in the Grade 1 King's Bishop Stakes in August. He has 10 career starts with five wins, a second and a third place finish and enters this week in so-so form. Ricardo Santana has been pegged with trying to guide Holy Boss to his second graded stakes score - from post 7.
Barbados 20-1 - has three wins, three seconds and a third place finish in nine career starts for trainer Michael Tomlinson. Last time out was a decent second in the Grade 3 Ogden Phoenix Stakes on this track October 2 after a fourth in the minor Mystic Lady Derby August 29, a third in the Grade 2 Amsterdam Stakes August 1, a second in the Grade 3 Carry Back Stakes in July and a win in the Grade 3 Hutcheson Stakes back in January. Barbados has looked good lately but will be after his first win in five starts - from post 11 with Luis Saez in the irons.
Big Macher 20-1 - finished ninth in this race last year as the culmination of a pretty good year that included wins in the Grade 1 Potrero Grande Stakes in April, 2014, the Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes three months later and the minor Carey Grant Stakes in November. He has just three starts this year - a win last time out in the minor Pirate's Bounty Stakes at Del Mar September 7 followed consecutive fifths - in a Group 1 stakes at Meydan in March and the Grade 2 Palos Verdes Stakes in January. Big Macher now has seven wins, two seconds and two third place finishes in 17 career starts and looks for his first graded stakes score - from gate 12 with Joel Rosario in charge.
Ivan Fallunovalot 30-1 - has an impressive 11 wins, three seconds and a third place finish in 19 career starts for trainer WT Howard. He has finished first or second in six straight races ahead of this weekend - four wins over that span. Last time out was a win in the minor Remington Park Sprint September 27 after another win in the minor David M Vance Stakes August 15 and a second in his only graded stakes action to date - the Grade 3 Count Fleet Sprint Handicap at Oaklawn Park in April. Ivan Fallunovalot has been terrific in every start this year and hopes his success against lesser company translates this weekend. Calvin Borel gets the call from gate 6.
Alsvid 50-1 - Chris Hartman trained gelding won two straight races in the spring - the Grade 3 Count Fleet Handicap in April and the Grade 3 Aristides Stakes in May but has looked just OK in three starts since. Last time out was a seventh in the Grade 3 Ogden Phoenix Stakes on this track October 2 after a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming September 13 and a fifth in the Grade 2 Smile Sprint Handicap at Gulfstream in July. Alsvid has 33 career starts with 13 wins, eight seconds and three third place finishes and enters in so-so form. Chris Landeros gets the call from the rail.
Gentlemen's Bet - Also Eligible entry finished third in this race last year but has struggled in 2015. He enters having failed to place in his last four starts overall (all graded stakes) after a win in the minor Hot Springs Stakes at Oaklawn Park in March.
