Las Vegas, NV - Woodbine in beautiful Toronto, Ontario will be the scene of the Grade 2 Kennedy Road Stakes on Sunday, November 23. Horses three years old and upward will take to Woodbine's All Weather Track and go six furlongs searching for the winner's share of the $200,000 purse.

A field of eight will line up in the Kennedy Road - race 8 on Woodbine's Sunday schedule. Post time is 4:16 PM. Here is a brief glance into the past performances of all eight entries for this Grade 2 stakes - half of which come from the barn of Reade Baker.

2014 Kennedy Road Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Bear No Joke - defending champion in this race Reade Baker trained gelding enters on the heels of three straight runner-up finishes - as 19-10 favorite in an Allowance Optional Claiming November 5, the Grade 3 Bold Venture Stakes September 13 and the minor OLG Kenora Stakes in August - all on this track. Before that was an uncharacteristic ninth in the Grade 2 Highlander Stakes, a fourth in the Grade 3 Vigil Stakes and his Kennedy Road Stakes score. He looks for his first win this year and seventh in 23 career starts when he leaves from post 4 with Patrick Husbands in the reins.

Sharp Sensation - Reade Baker trained gelding has looked very good the last couple of months - two wins and a third place finish. Last time out was a win in the minor Bet on Sunshine Stakes on dirt at Churchill Downs November 1 after a good third in the Grade 3 Woodford Stakes at Keeneland October 4 and a terrific win in the Grade 3 Turf Monster at Parx in September. His last start on this track wasn't great however - a seventh in the Grade 2 Play the King Stakes August 10. He does have three wins in five starts here so we know that the track is to his liking. Sharp Sensation will line up in gate 3 Sunday with Jesse Campbell guiding the 121 pound highweight.

Go Blue Or Go Home - another Reade Baker trained gelding has 15 career starts with five wins, two seconds and two third place finishes - three straight wins last summer including the Grade 3 Highlander Stakes on this track. Since then he has been up and down - an OK third in the Grade 2 Ogden Phoenix Stakes at Keeneland last October 4, a second in the minor Ontario Jockey Club Stakes on this track November 2 and a fourth in the 2013 Kennedy Road Stakes here November 30 to end his 2013 campaign. He has four starts this year with a second and a third place finish to show for it - a fourth last time out in the minor Lucky Coin Stakes at Saratoga in July followed a second in the minor Ontario Jockey Club Stakes here in June, a third in the Grade 3 Vigil Stakes in May and a fifth in the Grade 3 Shakertown Stakes in April. Go Blue Or Go Home has been in every race he's entered but looks for his first win since July, 2013 with Luis Contreras in the saddle from the rail.

Calgary Cat - has four wins, a second and a third place finish in his last six starts for trainer Kevin Attard - as hot as they come entering this race. Last time out was a third as favorite in the Grade 2 Nearctic Stakes after a nice win in his graded stakes debut - the Grade 3 Bold Venture Stakes by three lengths September 13 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score. He has six wins, three seconds and a third place finish in his 14 career starts and enters this week in very good form. Eurico Rosa Da Silva will get the call from post 5 Sunday as Calgary Cat looks for his sixth win in 11 tries at Woodbine.

Black Hornet - Pat Parente trained gelding has placed in all three career graded stakes starts - a second last time out in the Grade 2 Nearctic Stakes October 19 followed a third in the Grade 3 Bold Venture Stakes in September while the other showing was a third in the 2013 Gallant Bob Stakes at Parx. He also won the minor OLG Kenora Stakes here in August after failing to place in his prior two starts. Black Hornet has been trending upward his last three starts and is expected to be competitive Sunday. He leaves from the outside post with Justin Stein aboard.

Stacked Deck - has seven career starts with three wins and a third place finish - two wins in four starts this year for trainer Barbara Minshall. He makes his graded stakes debut this Sunday off a front running Allowance score, an ugly ninth in an Allowance Optional Claiming September 19 and a fifth in a similar race in August - all on this track. He did win the minor Charlie Barley Stakes on Woodbine turf in July for his best career result. Stacked Deck makes an enormous step up in competition Sunday with Emma-Jayne Wilson in the irons from gate 6.

Jose Sea View - has 10 career starts for trainer Reade Barker with three wins, a second and two third place finishes. He enters off a pair of fifth place finishes - the minor Labeeb Stakes last time out and the Grade 3 Ontario Derby September 21 after a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming in July, a fourth in the minor Charlie Barley Stakes also in July and an OK third in the minor Tom Ridge Stakes at Presque Isle Downs in May. He has placed in just one of his last four starts and has never finished higher than fifth in his graded stakes tries. James McAleney has been tabbed to change that - from post 7 Sunday.

Sparrowhawk - has just one graded stakes start which resulted in a tenth in the Grade 2 Highlander Stakes on this track in July and has been up and down since. He enters on a two race win streak however - an Allowance October 26 and an Optional Claimer October 5 - both results on this track. Sparrowhawk tries for a breakthrough in graded stakes company in so-so form when he leaves from post 2 with David Moran aboard.
