Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 1 FrontRunner Stakes comes our way from a very busy Santa Anita Park in Arcadia California this Saturday, September 27. Some of the best two year olds in the land will take to Santa Anita's main track and go 1 1/16 miles searching for the winner's portion of the $300,000 purse and an automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.

A field of 10 juveniles have been confirmed for the FrontRunner - race 6 on Santa Anita's packed Saturday card. Post time is 3:00 PM. Here is a brief glance into the past performances of all 10 combatants for this Grade 1 stakes.

2014 FrontRunner Stakes Race Favorite Entries

American Pharoah - Bob Baffert will send out American Pharoah for just the third time off a terrific 4 3/4 length win in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity September 3. His first career start wasn't a good one - a fifth in a MSW on this track August 9. Victor Espinoza will try to build on his wonderful effort last time out when he leaves from post 7 in his first start on dirt and around two turns.

Skyway - Mark Casse trained colt is the most experienced in the field - four career starts (three graded stakes) with two wins and a third place finish. Last time out was his only off the board finish - a fourth as 2-1 favorite in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity which followed a terrific win in the Grade 2 Best Pal Stakes at Del Mar and a third in the Grade 3 Bashford Manor Stakes at Churchill Downs in June. Corey Nakatani will be in the saddle from gate 9.

Calculator - Peter Miller trained colt has three career starts with a second and a third place finish - the second coming last time out behind American Pharoah in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity September 3. Before that was a fourth and a third respectively in a pair of MSW races also at Del Mar. Elvis Trujillo will be aboard trying to build on a terrific effort last time out - from the outside post.

Lord Nelson - Bob Baffert trained colt has just one career start and it was a good one - a maiden score at Del mar July 19. Martin Garcia will be in the saddle from post 2 looking to make a name for this impressive colt.

Conquest Panthera - Mark Casse trained colt has just one career start - a 1 1/4 length MSW score at Del Mar August 24. The legendary Mike Smith will be in the saddle from post 8 Saturday.

Texas Red - Keith Desormeaux trained colt will hit the track for the fourth time having posted a win and a second place finish. He broke maiden last time out at Del Mar August 20 by an impressive 1 1/2 lengths after a fourth and a second respectively in similar races on that same track. Kent Desormeaux will get the call Saturday from the rail.

Daddy D T - John Sadler trainee posted an impressive win last time out in the minor Oak Tree Juvenile Turf Stakes at Del Mar September 3 after a pedestrian sixth in his debut - a MSW at Del May August 9. Daddy D T looks to keep the roll going Saturday with Rafael Bejarano aboard from gate 4.

Sky Preacher - has four career starts for trainer Doug O'Neill with a win and two second place finishes. Last time out was a respectable second behind Daddy D T in the minor Oak Tree Juvenile Turf Stakes at Del Mar September 3 which followed a maiden score in his third career start. Tyler Baze has the mount from post 3.

Red Button - Mark Glatt trained colt has three career starts with a win and a second place finish. Last time out was an unsuccessful step up into graded stakes company - a sixth in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity which followed a maiden score at Del Mar in July and a second on this track in a MSW in June. Fernando Hernandez Perez will be in charge of Red Button from post 5.

Reflected Star - James Cassidy pupil is coming off a Maiden Claiming score in his second career start - at Del Mar August 20 after a ninth in his debut on that same track in July. Joe Talamo will be aboard Reflecting Star as he makes his first foray into stakes company. He leaves from gate 6.
