Shared Belief - reigning Eclipse award winning colt and Jerry Hollendorfer trainee will race for just the second time in 2014 after an Allowance score at Golden Gate May 26 and six months away due to a nagging foot injury. Before his layoff he had three starts and three wins - the Grade 1 CashCall Futurity by 5 3/4 lengths, the Grade 3 Hollywood Prevue Stakes and a MSW at first asking. Shared belief has four convincing wins in four starts by a combined 25 lengths and is an Eclipse Award winner for a reason - he's darn good. Mike Smith will ride the 4-5 favorite from post 5 Saturday.
Candy Boy - highly regarded colt has eight career starts for trainer John Sadler - a pair of fourths to start his career to go along with a pair of seconds including the Grade 1 CashCall Futurity behind Shared Belief December 14. Last time out was a disappointing thirteenth in the Kentucky Derby after an OK third behind California Chrome in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby April 5 and a terrific win over Chitu (with a 96 Beyer Speed Figure) in the Grade 2 Robert B. Lewis Stakes February 8. He has two wins, two seconds and a third in his last five six starts and will be out to prove his Kentucky Derby result was the exception - not the rule. Joe Talamo will ride from the outside post Saturday.

Can the Man - Bob Baffert trained colt has three wins and a third place finish in five career starts and enters on a nice two race win streak. Last time out was his first graded stakes score - in gate to wire fashion as 19-10 choice in the Grade 3 Affirmed at Santa Anita June 7 after eight months away and a win in the minor Speakeasy Stakes also at Santa Anita way back in October. His other graded stakes starts resulted in a fourth in the 2013 Grade 1 Frontrunner Stakes and a third in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity. Top Fortitude - has four career starts for trainer R. Kory Owens and is coming off a good second to Bayern in the Grade 2 Woody Stephens Stakes at Los Alamitos June 7 after a terrific win in his third career start - the Grade 3 Lazaro Barrera Stakes at 30-1 odds at Santa Anita May 10. These results followed an ugly tenth in and Allowance Optional Claiming April 12 after breaking maiden at first asking - at Hollywood Park in November. Kayla Stra rides from gate 6 in Top Fortitude's first start beyond seven furlongs.
Tonito M. - Puerto Rican sensation made his North American debut in May for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer and recorded a respectable second in the Grade 3 Lazaro Barrera Stakes at Santa Anita and followed that with a disappointing eighth in the Grade 2 Woody Stephens at Los Alamitos June 17. Before shipping he had an impressive three race win streak - in the Grade 3 George Washington Stakes at Camarero February 16 after and Allowance score in January and a good win in the Grade 1 Classic Agustin Mercado Reveron in December. He has won six of his nine career starts with two second sandwiched in there - all at different distances - impressive indeed. Victor Espinoza gets the call from gate 2 Saturday as Tonito M looks to rebound from a career worst effort.
Friendswith K Mill - has nine career starts for trainer Doug O'Neill with two wins and two second but enters off some very good results. Last time out was a second behind Can the Man in the Grade 3 Affirmed after an Allowance Optional Claiming score in May and a fifth in the Grade 3 Derby Trial Stakes in April. He has been trending upward and could challenge Saturday. Tyler Baze will be in the irons from gate 4.
Eddie's First - Doug O'Neill trained colt races in graded stakes company for the first time off a disappointing stakes debut - a sixth in the minor Sikly's Sullivan Stakes at Golden Gate June 8. He broke maiden the race before in his fifth start and has just one other placing in six career starts - a second in a MSW in April at Santa Anita. He starts from the rail Saturday with Elvis Trujillo in the saddle.
