Gulfstream Park Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payout Has Potential to Set Records on Memorial Day
Hallandale Beach, FL - If there is no single winning ticket on the Rainbow 6 at Gulfstream Park Saturday and Sunday, the total pool of the 20-cent wager is expected to set a Pick 6 record on Monday, May 26.
Total Pool Could Swell to $16 Million if Betting Reaches Estimated $10 Million
A mandatory payout of the carryover pool that stands at $6,303,426.30 for Saturday's card is scheduled for Memorial Day, when the total Rainbow 6 pool up for grabs could swell to approximately $16 million if the popular multi-race wager goes unsolved until Monday and wagering reaches estimates of $10 million.

- Open OTB AccountThe 20-cent Rainbow 6 will begin Monday with the fifth race, which will go off at approximately 4:05 p.m. Gulfstream will allow bettors an hour between the fourth and fifth race to place their Rainbow 6 wagers. Gulfstream will play host to a special handicapping show starting at approximately 12:30 p.m. with track handicapper Ron Nicoletti and the Daily Racing Form's Mike Welsch. The record single payout to a Rainbow 6 winner is $3,591,245.44 on Feb. 22, 2013, when a bettor in New Jersey took down the jackpot. On July 2, 2007 at Hollywood Park the Pick 6 pool hit $10,870,852.60. There were 13 winners and each ticket was worth $576,064.40.
Gulfstream's Rainbow 6 had a mandatory payout on April 23, 2011 with a $1.4 million carryover. The total pool that afternoon swelled to $5.1 million after $3.5 million was bet into it. There were 1,311 winning tickets each worth $3,279.26.
Following Monday's mandatory payout, the Rainbow 6 will be seeded with $50,000 when racing resumes Friday, May 30. The next mandatory payout will be June 29, the end of the fiscal year.
