Las Vegas, NV - Belmont Park in Elmont, New York will play host to the Grade 2 Peter Pan Stakes on Saturday, May 10. Three year olds will take to Belmont Park's main track and go 1 1/8 miles searching for the winner's share of the $200,000 purse.

2014 Peter Pan Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Tonalist - Christophe Clement trained colt is coming off a second behind Constitution in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Gulfstream after breaking maiden January 18 on that same track and a fourth in a MSW on this track in his debut November 16. He makes his stakes debut Saturday after a lung infection hoping to make a little noise as the 2-1 morning line favorite. Joel Rosario rides from post 4.

Commissioner - Todd Pletcher trained colt raced to a disappointing sixth in his graded stakes debut - the Grade 2 Fountain of Youth at Gulfstream Park February 22 after looking very impressive in his first three career starts. He won an Allowance Optional Claiming over Top Billing January 3 after breaking maiden August 28 in his second career start and a second in his debut - a MSW at Monmouth Park August 8. Last time out was another disappointing sixth in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park April 12 after a decent third behind Chitu in the Grade 3 Sunland Derby in March. He hopes to get on track Saturday and will have Javier Castellano in the saddle from gate 3. He is the 5-2 co-second choice on the morning line.

Our Caravan - Michael Dilger trained colt raced to a distant eighth in his second career start - the Grade 2 Holy Bull Stakes January 25 after a MSW score in his debut December 14. He went on to a couple of unflattering results in graded stakes action - an eighth in the Grade 2 Holy Bull in January and a seventh in the Grade 2 Fountain of Youth in February. He is coming off his second career win however - in the minor Calder Derby by an impressive 9 3/4 lengths April 5. He goes off at 5-2 odds as the 120 pound highweight with Jose Lezcano in the reins from post 6.

Fabulous Kid - James Toner pupil has just two career starts with a win and a third place finish. Last time out was an OK third in his stakes debut - the minor Northern Spur Stakes at Oaklawn Park April 12 after breaking maiden in his debut on that same track March 29. Junior Alvarado gets the mount from post 2 at 4-1 odds.

Matterhorn - Todd Pletcher trained colt makes his stakes debut Saturday after three career starts yielded a win and a third place finish. Last time out was a third against older entries at this distance in an Allowance at Aqueduct March 28 after a distant tenth in an Allowance Optional Claiming in February and a maiden score at first asking November 16. He starts from the rail with John Velazquez aboard at 6-1 odds.

Irish You Well - Wayne Catalano pupil has yet to record a win in seven career starts but has a second and four third place finishes. He has three thirds and a second in his last four starts overall - last time out was a third in his stakes debut - the Grade 3 Illinois Derby April 19 after - you guessed it - two thirds and a second in MSW races at Fair Grounds. He has been knocking on the door and hopes for his first career victory Saturday. Irad Ortiz gets the call from the outside post at 15-1 odds.

Tapicero - enters this weekend on a two race win streak - an Optional Claiming April 18 and a MSW March 21 - both at Calder. He has those two wins, two seconds and a third place finish in six career starts and takes an enormous leap up in competition Saturday. He is the longest shot in the field at 20-1 odds and leaves from gate 5.
