2013 Queen Elizabeth II Cup Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Alterite - French bred filly made her North American debut last time out one to remember - a terrific win in the Grade 1 Garden City Stakes at Belmont Park September 14 after nine starts at home produces three wins, two seconds and a third place finish. She hadn't won since March before last time out and had some rough results in some big races in France - a sixth in the Grade 1 Prix de Diane Longines-French Oaks and a tenth in the Grade 1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches-French One Thousand Guineas but sandwiched in there is a respectable second in the Grade 1 Pour Moi Coolmore Prix Saint-Alary in May. John Velazquez, aboard Alterite for the Garden City victory, has the call from post 4 as the likely favorite Saturday.

Kitten's Dumplings - Michael Maker trained filly is a multiple graded stakes winner that has 11 career starts with five wins and a second place finishes. She headed into the Del Mar Oaks hot - three straight wins including in the Grade 2 Lake George, the Grade 3 Regret Stakes June 15 and the minor Edgewood Stakes - but she was a disappointing fourth in the Del Mar Oaks. She also had a good second in the Grade 3 Florida Oaks behind Tapicat in February but followed that with a fifth in the Grade 1 Ashland at Keeneland in April. She will be looking for a strong bounce back effort Saturday as one of the most decorated entries in the field. Kitten's Dumplings will be piloted from post 7 by Julien Leparoux.

Emotional Kitten - Wesley Ward trained filly made her graded stakes debut with a very respectable second behind Emollient in the highly competitive Grade 1 American Oaks July 13 and followed that with a third last time out in the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks August 17. Before those results were 10 starts which produced three wins, a second and two third place finishes. She has won three of her last six starts - the best coming three back in the minor Hilltop Stakes at Pimlico May 17. Emotional Kitten has been impressive lately and should seriously challenge the field Saturday. Garrett Gomez will ride Emotional Kitten from the 5 hole.

Sarach - Richard Mandella trained filly has 10 career starts with four wins - two at the beginning of this year - both coming over one mile on turf - a MSW and an Allowance and in very impressive fashion at 8-1 odds in the Grade 2 Honeymoon Handicap June 8 when she led all the way to go along with a minor stakes score last time out in the Sandy Blue Handicap at Del Mar August 16. This after a pair of fifths - in her stakes debut at the China Doll Stakes March 9 and the Grade 3 Providencia in April and a fourth in the Grade 1 American Oaks July 13.
