Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 2 Del Mar Mile goes down this Sunday, August 25 from Del Mar Race Track in Del Mar, California. Horses three years old and upward will be after their share of the $200,000 purse when they go one mile in Del Mar's turf track.

Obviously - had nine starts in 2012 with four wins, three seconds and two third place finishes with three straight wins last summer and fall including the Grade 2 Arroyo Seco Mile October 6 and the 2012 edition of the Del Mar Mile in record time. He ended her 2012 campaign with a decent third behind Wise Dan and Animal Kingdom in the Breeders' Cup Mile in November and then took 4 1/2 months off. He returned April 20 to a good second as 11-10 favorite in the Grade 3 San Simeon Stakes ahead of Drill at Santa Anita and followed that with a win two straight wins - the Grade 2 American Handicap at Hollywood Park May 25 and last time out impressive style in the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile at Hollywood Park June 29. He has won eight of 15 starts, has placed in every career start, was absolutely off the charts in this race last year and will be looking for the repeat Sunday with Joe Talamo in the saddle.
Silentio - made his stakes debut with a terrific win in the Grade 2 Sir Beaufort Stakes at Santa Anita December 26 after three prior career starts resulted in two wins and a close third place finish in an Allowance Optional Claiming race here October 12. He was an OK third in the Grade 2 Arcadia Stakes at Santa Anita February 2 and followed that with a nice second in the Grade 1 Frank E. Kilroe Mile also at Santa Anita March 3. Last time out was a disappointing fifth in the Grade 1 Maker's 46 Mile April 12. He is lightly raced because of injury but has been mighty impressive when on the track - placing in six of seven career starts with three wins. He looks for his first win of 2013 Sunday with Rafael Bejarano in the irons.

Tigah - made his graded stakes debut in May 2012 for trainer John Sadler and finished sixth in the Grade 2 American Handicap at Hollywood Park. He has just four starts since a nine month layoff - a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Santa Anita February 28, a third in the one mile minor Thunder Road Stakes behind Battle Force and Fed Biz April 6 also at Santa Anita, a terrific win in the Grade 3 San Francisco Mile at Golden Gate in April and a third last time out in the minor Wickerr Stakes here July 24. His San Francisco Mile score opened a few eyes and proves that Tigah can run with the best. Joel Rosario gets the mount from post 2.

El Commodore - John Sadler trainee had an Allowance Optional Claiming score last May and it took until August 1 for him to record a victory again - a one mile Allowance Optional Claiming on this track. Other results this year include a good second in the Grade 3 Miami Mile Handicap April 20 and a sixth in the Grade 3 Appleton in March. He Be Fire N Ice - another John Sadler pupil has won four of six starts this year (five of 12 career) and enters on a tidy three race win streak. Last time out was in the minor California Dreamin' Handicap here July 21 after a couple of Allowance scores at Hollywood Park. He makes his graded stakes debut Saturday having won four of his last five starts overall. He breaks from the rail with Victor Espinoza in the saddle.
