Honey Fox Stakes at Gulfstream Park
Las Vegas, NV -- The 29th running of the Grade 2 Honey Fox Stakes is on tap for this Sunday, March 18th from Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. $150,000 is on the line for fillies and mares four years old and upward willing to race one mile on Gulfstream's turf course.
A strong field of 13 horses has been assembled for Honey Fox. It is race 10 on Gulfstream's Sunday schedule with a post time of 5:35 PM ET. Without a true favorite in the race, the Honey Fox is wide open - any one of the 13 could emerge victorious.
Honey Fox Stakes Race Favorites
Bay to Bay - hasn't won since the Grade 2 Nassau Stakes in June at Woodbine and stumbled to close out 2011 with a fifth in the Grade 1 First Lady Stakes at Keeneland in October and an eighth in the Grade 2 Canadian Stakes at Woodbine in September. Still trainer Brian Lynch and many racing insiders feel this is Bay to Bay's race to lose.

Romacaca - most recently finished an impressive second in the Florida Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Turf on January 23rd to put her on the radar for the 2012 season. Before that Romacaca finished a very respectable third at the Ballston Spa Stakes at Saratoga in August. She has placed in 20 of 25 career starts including 12 wins (five straight to start the season last year).
Remaining Field Entries
Tapitsfly - was a serious up-and-comer as a two year old capping off a terrific season with a win at the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita but has struggled since then. Last year Tapitsfly won only one of seven races - an allowance at Gulfstream. In her last two starts, she has a fifth (in the Grade 2 Marshua's River Stakes on January 7th) and a fifth (at the Grade 3 Cardinal Handicap in November).
Future Generation - Irish-bred filly won an allowance race on this course on February 15th in her North American debut. Future Generation is a group 2 winner in her native Ireland and has four wins in 10 career starts.
La Reine Lionne - has done well on this track lately - a second last time out in the Grade 3 Marshua's River Stakes on January 7th and a win in a Starter Allowance race on December 16th.
Persuading - has only four wins in 22 career starts. Last time out she was 7th in the Grade 3 Suwannee River Stakes on February 11th at Gulfstream and before that was 11th in the Grade 3 Marshua's River Stakes on January 7th on the same track.
Last Full Measure - only has five career starts but has two wins, one second and a third. Last time out she was third on February 4th in an Allowance Optional Claiming and before that won an Allowance on December 11th.
Cumulonimble - has placed in 13 of 15 career starts including seven wins. Last time out she was third in an Allowance Optional Claiming race at Gulfstream and before that won a similar race on the same track.
Louvakhova - followed up a terrible 12th place finish at the Grade 3 Marshua's River Stakes with a win in an Allowance Optional Claiming race at Gulfstream on February 4th.
Entrustment - has a pair of sixth place finishes in her last two starts - at the Harold C. Ramser Sr. Stakes at Santa Anita in October and at the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks in August.
New Normal - followed up a disappointing 9th in the Grade 2 Mrs. Revere Stakes at Churchill Downs in November with a fifth in an Allowance Optional Claiming race at Gulfstream on January 13th.
Lacie Slew - most recently won the Maryland Racing Media Stakes on February 11th at Laurel Park in impressive fashion after a third in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Gulfstream on December 22nd.
Much Rejoicing - has four wins in 13 career starts. Most recently she was third at the Manatee Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs on January 21st.
