Starship Jubilee Wins Nassau Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack

Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario played host to the $175,000 G2 Nassau Stakes on Saturday, May 27 - a one mile turf test for fillies and mares three years old and upward. It was 10-1 shot Starship Jubilee that provided a terrific stretch run to earn her first ever graded stakes score in her debut against top company - by a relatively easy 2 1/2 lengths in the field of seven. Involuntary, dismissed at 37-1 odds finished a quality second with 2-1 second choice Stormy Victoria getting in for third. 2016 Canadian Horse of the Year Caren finished a disappointing fourth at 7-1 odds while Southern Gem, Shelbysmile and 3-2 favorite Catch a Glimpse, who collapsed during the race after some bleeding completed the order of finish. Catch a Glimpse is apparently fine according to reports out of Toronto.
