Lady Shipman Wins Royal North Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack

Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario was the scene of the $150,000 Grade 3 Royal North Stakes on Sunday, July 31 - a six furlong dash for fillies and mares three years old and upward. Ranlo Investments' 3-5 race favorite Lady Shipman finally recorded her first ever graded stakes score after nine minor stakes career wins - by 1 3/4 lengths in the field of nine. 7-1 shot She's Explosive closed well to finish second while Mississippi Delta, who was also sent off at 7-1 got in for third. Cactus Kris was fourth followed by River Maid, Rapid Rhythm, Josdesanimaux, Silent Treat and Starless Night to complete the order of finish. Disco Barbie scratched.
