Passion for Action Wins Highlander Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack
Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario was the scene of the $200,000 Grade 2 Highlander Stakes on Queen's Plate Day, Sunday, July 3. Horses three years old and upward took to Woodbine's turf track and raced six furlongs. Benjamin Hutzel's homebred colt and 6-1 shot Passion for Action rallied down the stretch and upset the field of six for his third stakes win in four starts this year. 4-1 second choice Green Mask finished second while Something Extra got in for a good third at 8-1 odds. Hootenanny was fourth while overwhelming 1-2 favorite Lady Shipman and Black Hornet completed the order of finish. Sweet Grass Creek scratched.
