River Maid Wins Bessarabian Stakes at Delta Downs

Woodbine in Toronto, Ontario played host to the $200,000 G2 Bessarabian Stakes on Saturday, November 19. Fillies and mares three years old and upward took to Woodbine's All Weather Track and raced seven furlongs. The Very Dry Stable's 9-2 third choice River Maid picked up her first ever graded stakes victory in the field of seven. 2-1 second choice Southern Ring finished second, a neck back and a nose ahead of Minks Aprise who claimed third at 6-1 odds. 9-5 favorite Midnight Miley finished fourth while Calling Rhy Rhy, Lilly's Goldie, and Top Decile completed the order of finish.
