American Gal Wins Test Stakes at Saratoga Race Course

The $500,000 G1 Test Stakes was contested Saturday, August 5 at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York. Three-year-old fillies took to Saratoga's dirt track and raced seven furlongs. Kaleem Shah's homebred, 5-2 second betting choice American Gal posted her first ever G1 score, dominating the field and emerging by an easy 4 3/4 lengths. 2-1 favorite Faypien finished second with 15-1 outsider Tequilita getting in for third. Chalon was fourth in the field of 10 with Vertical Oak, Your Love, Divine Miss Grey, Chanel's Legacy, Minnie Blip, and Cursor completing the order of finish.
