Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York played host to the $250,000 G2 Prioress Stakes on Sunday, September 3 - a six-furlong dash for three-year-old fillies. Kirk and Judy Robison's 9-2 fifth choice Vertical Oak was much the best on the day, emerging in the field of eight by an impressive 5 1/4 lengths for her second graded stakes victory. 7-2 second choice Nonna Mela got in for second with 5-2 favorite Dawn the Destroyer claiming third. Golden Mischief was fourth with Student Body, Downtown Mama, Royal Inheritance and Yorkiepoo Princess completing the order of finish. Sister Kan scratched.
