Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York played host to the $600,000 G1 Alabama Stakes on Saturday, August 19. Three-year-old fillies took to Saratoga's dirt track and raced 1 1/4 miles. Claiborne Farm and Adele Dilschneider's homebred Elate was dominant - cruising to an easy 5 1/2 length victory at 4-1 odds over a good field. Pace setter - 13-1 shot It Tiz Well finished a good second in the field of nine with Salty, who was sent off at 6-1 getting in for third. The order of finish was completed by Actress, New Money Honey, Lockdown, Mopotism, 4-1 favorite Holy Helena, and Unchained Melody, who was vanned off after sustaining injury.
