Somali Lemonade Wins Diana Stakes at Saratoga Race Course
Las Vegas, NV - Saratoga Race Course in the great state of New York was the scene of the $500,000 Grade 1 Diana Stakes on Saturday, July 19 - a 1 1/8 mile turf test for older fillies and mares. Caroline Forgason's homebred Somali Lemonade utilized a good stretch run to upset the 10 horse field at 11-1 odds. Grade 1 winner Stephanie`s Kitten finished second at 5-1 odds with another Grade 1 winner, 8-1 shot Discreet Marq getting up for third. Abaco finished fourth, followed by Solid Appeal, Strathnaver, Caroline Thomas, the favorite Alterite, Emollient, and Tannery.
