Prize Exhibit Wins Monrovia Stakes at Santa Anita Park

Las Vegas, NV - The $200,000 Grade 2 Monrovia Stakes went down on Santa Anita's unique downhill turf track on Sunday, January 3 - a 6 1/2 furlong test for fillies and mares four years old and upward. It was Prize Exhibit that posted the minor upset in the field of 11, winning by a nose at 7-1 odds in her first ever start on the downhill track. 8-1 shot, defending champion in this race Shrinking Violet finished second with heavy 6-5 favorite Ageless getting in for third. Illuminant rallied to finish fourth while Theatre Star, Baruta (BRZ), Velvet Mesquite, Lutine Belle, Singing Kitty, Heavens Stairway and Our Pure Creation completed the order of finish while My Year Is a Day scratched.
