Beholder Wins Adoration Stakes at Santa Anita Park

Santa Anita Park in Acadia, California played host to the $100,000 Grade 3 Adoration Stakes on Sunday, May 8. Fillies and mares three years old and upward were featured when they took to Santa Anita's dirt track and went 1 1/16 miles. Spendthrift Farm's three-time Eclipse Award winner Beholder was much the best on the day to nobody's surprise in her first race since September 26, prevailing by 2 1/2 lengths as the overwhelming 1-9 favorite. 7-1 second choice Sheer Pleasure finished second in the field of six with 24-1 shot All Star Bub another 2 1/4 lengths back in third. Moyo Honey finished fourth followed by Backintheacademy and She's Reddy to complete the order of finish.
