Dortmund Wins San Felipe Stakes at Santa Anita Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $400,000 Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes went down at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California this past Saturday, March 7 - a 1 1/16 mile race for Kentucky Derby hopefuls. Bob Baffert trained 4-5 favorite Dortmund remained perfect in his career and took third spot on the Road to the Kentucky Derby points race with a gate to-wire 1 1/4 length win - he now has 70 points and is all-but-assured a starting spot in the Run for the Roses in May. The late-closing Prospect Park was second followed Lord Nelson who finished third. The Gomper was fourth followed by Pulmarack, Pain and Misery, Ocho Ocho Ocho (who lost for the first time after winning his first three races), Sir Samson, and Kenjisstorm.
