Iotapa Wins Santa Maria Stakes at Santa Anita Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $200,000 Grade 2 Santa Maria Stakes went down at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California in Saturday, February 15. Slight 2-1 second choice Iotapa continued her trend upward for trainer John Sadler with a nice 1 3/4 length win in the 1 1/16 mile race. Jerry Hollendorfer trained Let Faith Arise finished second in her second consecutive graded stakes race while Stanwyck got up for a good third. Then came Yahilwa, Ondine, and Golden Production. Morning line favorite Fiftyshadesofhay was scratched from the Santa Maria earlier in the day by trainer Bob Baffert.
