Let Faith Arise Wins Santa Margarita Stakes at Santa Anita Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $350,000 Grade 1 Santa Margarita Stakes was contested on Saturday, March 15 from Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California - a 1 1/8 mile test for older fillies and mares. Jerry Hollendorfer trained, morning line third choice Let Faith Arise flipped the script and recorded her first graded stakes score after two straight seconds in graded stakes company by 1 3/4 lengths over the 7-5 favorite Iotapa who beat her by 1 3/4 lengths in the Santa Maria Stakes February 15. Stanwyck followed up a third in the recent Santa Maria Stakes with another third while Spellbound was fourth, followed by Yahilwa, Fiftyshadesofhay, and Macha. Miss Serendipity, entered in the Santa Ana Stakes on turf Sunday, was scratched.
