Las Vegas, NV - The $200,000 Grade 2 San Gabriel Stakes went down on Santa Anita turf Saturday, January 4. Eight year old Jeranimo snapped a recent slump and recorded victory in this race for a record third time - this time by 1 1/4 lengths as 6-5 favorite. 2-1 second choice Slim Shadey also shrugged off some recently disappointing results with a second place finish while Artic North finished third. Then came Utopian, Fire With Fire, Huntsville, and Te Rapa. Black Spirit, Dubai You X Y Z, Empty Headed, and Willyconker all scratched.
