Pontchatrain Wins Monrovia Stakes at Santa Anita Park
Las Vegas, NV - The famous hillside turf course at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California played host to the $200,000 Grade 2 Monrovia Stakes Sunday, January 5. Even money choice Pontchatrain made it three straight wins on the hillside track with a three quarters of a length tally in the 6 1/2 furlong test. Tom Proctor trainees finished second and third in the race - 2-1 second choice Kindle finished second while Purim's Dancer wound up third. Juddmonte's Ultrasonic, making her United States debut for trainer Bob Baffert, finished fourth. She was followed by Ciao Bella Luna, Winding Way, and Camryn Kate. Golden Production, Judy In Disguise, and Sky High Gal all scratched.
