Sam's Sister Wins La Brea Stakes at Santa Anita
Las Vegas, NV - The Grade 1 La Brea Stakes went down on opening day at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California on Friday, December 26. Three year old fillies were featured in this seven furlong test and it was 12-1 shot Sam's Sister that came up with the shocking victory in her stakes debut- over 7-10 favorite Taris who finished second and Thank You Marylou who got up for third. Ramona's Wildcat finished fourth and was followed by Uzziel, More Complexity, Stonetastic, Jojo Warrior, and Amaranth. Awesome Baby was a surprising scratch by trainer Bob Baffert.
