Texas Red Wins Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita Park
Las Vegas, NV - Breeders' Cup Saturday in Arcadia, California included a race between some of the best two year olds in the world when the $2 million Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile was run. Texas Red dominated the field winning by 6 1/2 lengths at 14-1 odds. 9/5 favorite Carpe Diem was second in the field of 11 with Upstart in third. The Great War was fourth followed by Mr. Z, One Lucky Dane, Souper Colossal, Lucky Prayer, Private Prospect, Blue Dancer and 5-2 second choice who finished last. Injury forced American Pharoah out of the race last week and Calculator was scratched Saturday morning because of a sore left front foot.
