Beholder Wins Zenyatta Stakes at Santa Anita Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $250,000 Grade 1 Zenyatta Stakes took place at a very busy Santa Anita on Saturday, September 28. 7-5 favorite Beholder was very much the best in her first race against older fillies and mares winning with ease in gate-to-wire fashion in the 1 1/16 mile test. Beholder, in turn, earned an automatic bid into the Breeders' Cup Distaff on this track November 2. 9-2 shot Authenticity finished second while Joyful Victory finished third. Flashy American was fourth, followed by More Chocolate, Via Villaggio, and Include Me Out. Great Hot was scratched.
