Las Vegas, NV - Santa Anita was scene of the $2 million Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Saturday, November 1. Gary and Mary West's New Year's Day, a 10-1 shot from trainer Bob Baffert upset the field by 1 1/4 lengths while Havana held for on second, three-quarters of a length ahead of Strong Mandate in third. Bond Holder was fourth followed by Tap It Rich - the 3-1 second choice, Mexikoma, We Miss Artie, Dance With Fate, Diamond Bachelor, Smarty's Echo, Medal Count, Rum Point, and Conquest Titan.
