Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park Results
Perhaps the biggest graded stakes race of the weekend took place on Saturday at Oaklawn Park - the $600,000 Grade 2 Rebel Stakes for three year old Kentucky Derby hopefuls raced for the very nice first place prize and the 50 qualifying points on the "Road to the Kentucky Derby". It was quite a day for Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Luks who finished 1-2 with 28-1 shot Will Take Charge emerging victorious by a head over 7-2 Oxbow. In turn, Will Take Charge earned 50 qualifying points and now sits atop of the standings with 60 - Oxbow now has 36 with the 20 points secured on Saturday. Den's Legacy finished third and earned 10 points and Texas Bling finished fourth. 6-5 Rebel favorite Super Ninety Nine faded to fifth, 8 1/4 lengths behind the victor.
