Big Blue Kitten Wins United Nations Stakes at Monmouth Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $500,000 Grade 1 United Nations Stakes was contested on Monmouth Park turf on the Jersey Shore on Sunday, July 5. Ken and Sarah Ramsey's Big Blue Kitten won the 1 3/8 mile test for older horses for the second time thanks to a late surge at 4-1 odds. 9-2 Slumber, who won the Grade 1 Knob Creek Manhattan Stakes at Belmont Park June 6, was 1 1/2 lengths back in second, followed by 9-2 shot Twilight Eclipse, a neck back in third. Shining Copper finished fourth, followed by Imagining, Ashleyluvssugar, the 2014 champion grass horse and defending champion in this race Main Sequence, Sycamore Lane, and Divine Oath, to complete the order of finish.
