Winning Cause Wins Red Bank Stakes at Monmouth Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $100,000 Grade 3 Red Bank Stakes was contested at Monmouth Park on the Jersey Shore on Saturday, May 16 - a one mile turf race for older horses. Todd Pletcher trained Winning Cause bettered his second place finish in this race last year and emerged victorious this year - by a half length at 6-1 odds. 8-5 favorite Heart to Heart finished second with Aztec Brave, the 120-pound topweight getting up for third in the field of seven. Completing the order of finish were Rose Brier in fourth, Guys Reward, Slim Shadey, and Mellow Fellow. Adirondack King, Edge of Reality, and Red Vine were main track only entrants.
