Sailor's Valentine Wins Ashland Stakes at Keeneland Racecourse

Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky played host to the $500,000 G1 Central Bank Ashland Stakes on Saturday, April 8 - a 1 1/16 mile dirt race for three year old fillies. It was 22-1 longshot Sailor's Valentine that pulled the upset and snapped a four race losing streak by just a half length. 5-1 co-third choice Daddys Lil Darling finished second in the field of eight while Someday Soon claimed third at 21-1 odds. Tapped finished fourth with Summer Luck, Pretty City Dancer, Meanie Irenie and even-money favorite Elate, who was pulled up entering the stretch and vanned off, completing the order of finish.
