Miss Temple City Wins Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland Race Course

The $1 million G1 Shadwell Turf Mile was contested Saturday, October 8 at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky. Horses three years old and upward were featured when they took to Keeneland's turf track and raced one mile. The Club Racing, Allen Rosenblum, and Sagamore Farm's 7-1 fourth choice Miss Temple City was best on the day earning her second Grade 1 victory - both against the boys - this time by just a head. Miss Temple City in turn earned an automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup Mile in November at Santa Anita. 3-1 co-second choice Ironicus made it interesting with a tremendous late rally but settled for second while 5-1 third choice Tourist came in another half-length back in third. Arlington Million winner and 3-1 co-favorite Mondialiste was fourth in the field of 11 while Kasaqui, Pleuven, Ring Weekend, What a View, Grand Arch, Tower of Texas and Triple Threat completed the order of finish.
