Elektrum Wins Dowager Stakes at Keeneland Race Course

Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky was the scene of the G3 Rood and Riddle Dowager Stakes on Sunday, September 23. Fillies and mares three years old and upward took to Keeneland's turf track and raced 1 1/2 miles. Hronis Racing's 5-2 race favorite Elektrum hit the wire first and prevailed by a nose in the field of 11. Apple Betty finished second at 5-1 odds with 49-1 longshot Swear by It finishing third, three lengths back. Freethinker finished fourth, another five lengths back, and was followed by Daring Duchess, Paige, Oakley Girl, Notte d'Oro, Robillard, Lots o' Lex, and Rachel Wall to complete the order of finish. Belle de Nuit and Celestial Insight scratched.
