Las Vegas, NV - Opening day of Keeneland's Spring meet was Friday, April 4. The main event on the card was the $100,000 Transylvania Stakes - a 1 1/16 mile test for three year olds. Narrow second choice and Dale Romans trainee Medal Count emerged victorious by 1 1/4 lengths at 3-1 odds while Picozza finished a good second. Woodfield Springs made up ground from seventh to finish a neck back in third while favored Storming Inti was 3 1/4 lengths back in fourth. Laddie Boy, Hesinfront, Global View, and Kody With a K completed the order of finish. Can'thelpbelieving, Pleuven, Red River Rising, and Ry's the Man scratched.
